Reviews of Bulguksa Temple, places to visit in Gyeongju
Gyeongju Bulguksa Temple
I think seeing Bulguksa Temple in Gyeongju on a school trip as a child and seeing Bulguksa Temple as an older person feel different. Somehow, when I was young, I didn’t appreciate the beauty of Bulguksa, but now that I visited Bulguksa with my children, I felt that Bulguksa is a really beautiful temple.
Especially when I went inside Daeungjeon Hall and looked up, I felt a touch of emotion at the sight of all the traces of those years.
For reference, Daeungjeon Hall was also restored after being burned during the Imjin War in the Joseon Dynasty, but I still felt its grandeur.
Not to mention Seokgatap and Dabotap. I think Bulguksa Temple is a great place to teach history to children. In order to explain it well to the children, of course, the parents also seemed to have to study a lot. I also bought a book in advance and studied about the cultural heritage in Gyeongju. If I hadn’t studied in advance, I don’t think I could have taught my children anything.
